I loved Peckerwood Twist by Nathan Lichtwar.  This title has a phenomenal plot with an amazing and unexpecting ending.  Is it true or is it not?  You will have to read this book to find out!

Sam Paris is a Vietnam War Veteran, a drunk, and a patron at a local bar called Peckerwood.  Not much unusual happens at the Peckerwood,  so when new faces appear, they are hard to go unnoticed.

Harry and his gorgeous wife walk into Peckerwood demanding to receive a case of the famous Peckerwood Hot Sauce.  Turning heads with their every step,  they walk to the end of the bar where Sam happens to be sitting.  Coincidence?  It turns out Harry is a journalist looking for a new hot story, and he's willing to compensate well for it.  Sam, who's a little down on his luck, (or isn't he?), agrees to give Harry a story as long as he keeps the beers coming.

As Harry and Sam move to a private table,  while Harry's wife amuses the other patrons, Sam starts his story about his Amazon adventure.

Follow Sam through small towns, raging rivers,  being hunted,  and dense jungle as he tells his tale of how he met a beautiful woman named Ursula,  how he became a man of interest, and his struggle to survive the jungle of the Amazon.

Lichtwar did an excellent job in Peckerwood Twist!  Throwing in some great humor with constantly guessing what is a reality and what is not, this title has enough adventure and mystery to keep you anxious to turn the pages!

This is one title I would love to see become a movie and I hope to see more of Nathan Lichtwar.  I highly recommend Peckerwood Twist giving it

My Dog Is Too Fat by Cheryl Gress is phenomenal.  A great childrens book with self illustrated pictures that make it perfect.

When Bear goes to the Vet and they find out he is overweight,  the good Dr. has to explain what is the proper food to feed a dog.

Gress did an excellent job with her rhyming to keep the attention and the illustrations are cute as ever.

My Dog Is Too Fat not only teaches children what to feed and what not to feed a dog,  but is a perfect title for any beginning or active reader.

I also read this with my ten year old son who said "This book is funny.  It teaches people not to feed dogs people food so they don't get fat."

We give My Dog Is Too Fat ***** (5) Stars. BK Walker, reviewer for BK Walker Books.  Author of "Near Suicide" and "Dares And Dreams".  http://bkwalkerbooks.weebly.com

I Don't Want to be Your Guru, but I Have Something to Say by Joyce Shafer is one of the most inspirational and uplifting reads I have had the pleasure of reading.

A.J. sets out on her travels in hopes of finding a man she had met ten years earlier in a small town diner.  When she arrives to the same small town,  the only thing left from her memory are a small house and the gas station.

When the owner of the gas station appears,  she sees a similarity but realizes he is not the same man she seeks.  When she asks about "Old Bill" finds she is face to face with his son, Bud.

Bud leads her to where "Old Bill",  where A.J. is not faced with the old man but his grave.  As she is enveloped with sorrow that she didn't make it back before his death,  she becomes confused by the dates on his head stone.

Bud invites her into the house to meet his wife Esther and to hear how A.J. came to know his father.

They settle in at the kitchen table with apple pie and coffee,  where a confused A.J. tells her tale.

I Don't Want to be Your Guru, but I Have Something to Say really gets you thinking.  If you're confused about life,  this title is surely going to enlighten you.  Full of suggestions on how to change your way of thinking to make life a little easier, learning how to tell the difference between a "reaction" and a "response",  you're going to see a straighter path.  Shafer did a magnificent job as a life coach and really opens your eyes to a brighter future.

I highly recommend this book and give it ***** (5) Stars.~BK Walker, reviewer for BK Walker Books. Author of "Near Suicide" and "Dares And Dreams". http://bkwalkerbooks.weebly.com

L.A. Boneyard by P.A. Brown is absolutely astounding!  If you're a murder and mystery fan you are surely going to love this book!  Captivating from start to finish,  it's a must read!

David Eric Laine is a homicide detective of the Northeast Community Police Department in Los Angeles.  When two bodies turn up in a local park,  Detective Laine begins his pursuit to find the killer, with his new homicide partner Jairo Hernandez.

With no clues as to who these women are, and a new partner, this case proves to bring chaos into David's life.  As the investigation pursues,  his partner shows increased interest,  more than in just the case at hand.

When a third murder almost kills David's life partner, Chris,  Chris is sent away on business.  In the days of Chris's absence,  Jairo becomes more persistent in his advances.  David struggles with his morality and desires, trying to maintain professional boundaries while trying to solve these murders.

Trying to keep the investigation the main focus,  the only clue into these deaths are dental work and tattoos all the deceased possess.  When they narrow down there search to claim identities,  they uncover a smuggling and prostitution ring with a surprising twist.

L.A. Boneyard is phenomenal! Full of suspense, murder, mystery and even explicit sex,  Brown left nothing out!  What more could you ask for in one book?  I strongly recommend this book and I believe Brown could possibly be the next J.D. Robb.  I think we can expect to see much more from P.A. Brown.  I loved this read and I give L.A. Purchase Ghost Orchid : Amazon

Review by BK Walker: Ghost Orchid by D.K. Christi is brilliant! Christi does a phenomenal detail bringing two love stories full circle to one extraordinary outcome.

The Ghost Orchid is an endangered and rarely seen flower.  There has been a sighting of one in a swamp found in the Florida Everglades.  Christi has created an amazing plot as we watch how two separate love stories intertwine and the Ghost Orchid's magic brings them both to an unexpecting connection and meaningful conclusion.

In search of the 'one' great capture on film,  Roger Andrew and Neev are brought together on assignment for National Geographic.  In the jungle of South Africa,  they find adventure and passion.  While their love grows no farther than the assignment they are on,  a deeply profound and true friendship does.

Neev,  never knowing her real family,  searches to resolve anger and the empty hole in her soul.  Roger stands by her as a true friend should and as we see the other love story of Mel and Jack unfold,  Neev is led to the answers she so desperately seeks.

Ghost Orchid is a must read.  I can't say enough about this title.  Christi's style will definitely leave you feeling the magic.  I give it ***** (5) Stars, ~BK Walker - Author/Reviewer of BK Walker Books, http://bkwalkerbooks.weebly.com.

With nowhere to turn, she started writing Silent Killers, hoping to increase awareness of cancer and drunk drivers and the devastation that they cause. They will kill anyone of any age. Now in honor of both daughters, she hopes to save the sanity and lives of others and increase public awareness of two silent killers. Maybe her story will help others to overcome the never-ending nightmares that still plague her mind.
